The Attitude Character
The Balinese characteristic concepts are: The truth-faith, hard-creative, arranging in stages oriented, cooperation, loyalty, adaptation, need a son, and has ability of being hypnotized. The four emotional aspects are also identified to be the characteristic of the Balinese people: the non-verbal act of emotional expression, restrained emotion, and the passive receipt. The strength of the Balinese people characteristics is in their faith. The Balinese children grow up and believe to their parents and the older people. This is one reason that they are learned to respect them. They believe to 'pemangku', 'pedanda', 'balian' that are needed by the Gods to extend the desire and His inspirations to the people. They believe their 'kepala desa' (village headman) and the 'banjar' leader and trustful to their community norms or call 'awig-awig'. They also believe their ancestor traditions, and believed that all can help them in reaching the successful of life. That is why they respect to the God and their ancestor and give their loyalty and tribute 'banten' arranged nicely. The closed feeling to their ancestor, community, and blood-relative, strengthen the feelings that Balinese people had. |
