Gandrung
This is a very important form of Joged. In it a young boy took the role of the dancer, and, following a pure dance solo in the Nandir-style, danced with an ibing from the audience. Gandrung performances in the old style were still given in the 1930s complete with ngibing. The surviving aspect of the performance specific to the old Gandrung is the musical composition which accompanies the ngibing, called Gending Gandrangan. |
